i've stolen peoples' internet... i have a PDA equipped with wi-fi, and once i needed to check my checking account.
so i found a network and logged on.
now, novices can access the wrong network on accident, since most computers will find whatever works, and some systems are set to connect to whatever it finds.
bottom line, if you don't want people to hog your bandwidth, turn on encryption.

Yeah, especially since there are prosecutors out there that don't even think it is stealing.
